Walk the Line Review

Johnny Cash was a genius and the story of his life is definitely worth telling. 'Walk the Line' does the job and then some.

Joaquin Phoenix not only acts and looks like a young Johnny Cash, but mimics his singing voice so accurately, it’s hard to tell the difference. If that's not enough, Reese Witherspoon's imitation of June Carter is even better.

It was an amazing movie. so sad, inspirational and moving.

It tells the life story of Johnny Cash (Joacquin Phoenix) as a musician, from his depressing childhood, to starting his career as a musician, to his downfall on drugs and his love June Carter (Reese Witherspoon).

This film was really emotional and was very touching with all the characters involved. I had never heard about Johnny Cashs life until I saw this film for the first time. It is obviously a really depressing and troubled life but he got there in the end which was great. Despite of how depressing the film is, it is also a very beautiful film too about love and friendship too.

The love of a woman, given reluctantly, saves a man from addiction and self-destruction. Traces the life of Johnny Cash from his boyhood, with loss of a brother and of his father's affection, to 1968 when his outlaw side and his unhappiness give way to the twin triumphs of his concert at Folsom Prison and June Carter's acceptance of his marriage proposal. Along the way there's his first composition, first recording, first marriage, daughters, being smitten with June, divorce, pills and booze, an empty life, and the Carter family's nursing him back to health. June eases Johnny out of a ring of fire.
