The Good & The Bad - Movies Watched In 2017 (395 movies items)

"This is a movie about the true story of the independence of India. Set in 1947, Lord Mountbatten, played by a very convincing Hugh Bonneville had been appointed as the last Viceroy of India, his responsibility was to administer independence and the partition of India. What he didn't know when he arrived was that the plan had already been orchestrated by Winston Churchill. He was just there to deliver it. While the political drama is going on, there's another romantic sub-plot being played out be"

"27/3/17 Impressive costume drama set in India in 1947 when the British were handing the country its independence and the new Viceroy, Earl Mountbatten, and his wife would see the transition, not realising they were going to be caught up in a country divided. Terrific attention to detail about a fascinating period of history. The "Romeo and Juliet" romance added on sadly doesn't quite work."
