"You'll never survive if you lose control Mr. Fox." On first impression, Vacancy probably seems like conventional, by-the-numbers horror fluff...upon closer inspection, this is anything but! In the midst of Hollywood's putrid "torture porn" movie craze (Hostel and its diabolical sequel are probably the worst offenders) it's indeed a rare occurrence to witness a good old-fashioned horror flick that relies on white-knuckle suspense as opposed to the senseless exploitation of gore and sex. Come on, are you kidding me with the horror movie heroine role...again! They definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire movie, but the outcome is just so unbelievable it just upsets me. Seriously, I watched this, The Messengers, The Reaping, and The Hitcher in the same week, and if all of them didn't follow the same pattern, I must be blind.

Lost on the road, a young couple (Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson) is stuck in an unknown town with a gas station and a horrible motel, where they check-in to avoid spending the night in their car. Having nothing to do, David pops in a video only to realise that the room in the movie is the very same room where he and his wife are now. He will try everything to get his wife to safety. I know that there wouldn't be a movie if this had been done, but the first thing to do is to unhook the cameras so they do not film anything, so the bad guys so to speak do not know what you're doing. First script mistake. And there were many, many more. Yes, it is an interesting plot, but the not-credible script made it hard to watch. The characters were not credible either. great movie good story plot to it. 2 people david and amy fox (kate beckinsale and luke wilson) david takes a short cut as he says and ends up getting lost so they meet this guy to try and fix there car. then once there back driving again there car breaks down. they then go back to the motel and from then on its crazy. First of all theres bangs coming from the door and they go out and no one is there.
David finds videos of people getting killed in the motel then when hes watching the video he soon finds out its the hotel where he is. The he finds there spying on him and amy from camera's all over the room. From then there hotel manager and his men are trying to kill them. The ending though was pretty weak but all together it was great.
