"Your commanders have committed a crime I cannot forgive. None of you are safe. Have I got your attention now?"

Director J.J. Abrams' second venture into the cosmos on-board the USS Enterprise, Star Trek: Into Darkness is a smoother, more engaging experience than its predecessor, and it shows that there's still plenty of mileage left in the decades-old franchise. This is a follow-up... read more

Well, I can finally say that I've seen a 2013 release that I genuinely love. About time. Star Trek Into Darkness is crazy fun, well-crafted, and has a great story as well. It's rare to see a summer blockbuster so intelligently made, and so easily enjoyable. I haven't had this much fun at the theater since last year's Wreck-It Ralph. Into Darkness may not have the accessibility of its predecessor, ... read more

In 2009, J.J. Abrams surprised us with his marvelous reboot of the Star Trek franchise and once again, he embarks us on another spectacular ride into space with this sequel. There have not been many Hollywood reboots that have played kindly to audiences in recent years and, quite frankly, neither have many sequels. However, because Abrams’ work on Star Trek was so successful, expectations were e... read more

"First viewing - Jan. 15th This was a Christmas gift from one of my best friends (see also last month's Guardians of the Galaxy), and on this particular night I figured I'd finally sit down with it. And yeah, it's good. I liked it about as much if not slightly more than Abrams' first Star Trek. It's solidly entertaining & a decent twist on my favorite ST film Wrath of Khan. Some aspects seem a little pointless (Kirk & Spock being demoted for all of 15 minutes mainly), and I find the color use to"

A good movie

“Since I have seen every single Star Trek movie, of course, I had to see this one as well at some point. First of all, to be honest, even though I did like the reboot done by J.J. Abrams, I still think it was rather overrated. Sure, at last, they managed to make a Star Trek movie which finally looked awesome and the damned thing was certainly entertaining but the story was still just way too convoluted in my opinion. Well, this new installment pretty much gave me the same feeling. Indeed, the whole thing looked great, there were some really nice action scenes and it was a fun movie but I'm not sure I really cared about the plot. On top of that, even though they took an interesting turn with the previous movie, they still manage to rehash some really old stuff like Khan. I mean, sure, Khan” read more

“Khan Noonien Singh; profession dictator objective control everything, just like a terrorist with his own purposes, He referred to the moral ambiguity of the character saying that fits the saying "one man's terrorist is the struggle for the freedom of another man" , adding parallel to the current world order, Khan is mentally and physically superior to any human being, "a villain for the story." new Khan is also manipulative, but subtle, is more direct, less romantic. And trace your own route, which is not yet complete. Khan is someone complicated, there are no words to describe. You could call someone ambitious, when something gets between the eyes no one can take him out, also has its objectives thoughtful, he wants to succeed in proposing. "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013)

“FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Okay, I know I'm late to the game on this one, but I just got back from seeing Star Trek Into Darkness. :) And in short, I liked it a lot; I enjoyed it even more than the first JJ Abrams Trek.

First of all, this one demonstrates more of the true essence of Trek: exploration and diplomacy. The opening scene, for example, and the problems that spring from retrieving Harrison (Khan) from Klingon territory.

It also stays true to the characters, and their personalities are so strong that their interactions occasionally made me laugh out loud. :) I especially like how, when Kirk is forced to cooperate with Khan, he still has a plan in case Khan double-crosses him.

Benedict Cumberbatch makes for an amazing villain: manipulative, menacing a” read more

“"Shall We Begin"

Absolutely amazing went to see this film in IMAX and it was well worth the hour drive. Unlike Iron Man 3 i actually enjoyed watching this movie without having problems with how the story and it's characters played out. J.J. Abrams know who to make a great sci-fi film. Visually Stunning just like Star Trek 2009 though i felt that there was no big amazing visual scene like there was in Star Trek when Nero destroys Planet Vulcan. The particle beams left by USS Enterprise those were awesome looking.

The film follows Chris Pine (Kirk)and his team going on a man hunt for Benedict Cumberbatch after he as blown up a building in London. The movie opens up with Kirk and Bones on a planet running through some red tree field away from the planets indigenous people ” read more

Absolutely fantastic, exhilarating sequel.

There have not been many Hollywood reboots that have played kindly to audiences in recent years and, quite frankly, neither have many sequels. However, because Abrams’ work on Star Trek was so successful, expectations were even higher for the sequel Star Trek: Into Darkness. In addition, the majority of cast and crew were returning; therefore, it appeared a promising follow-up. It contains the same large-scale production elements as its predecessor and deservedly marks its place as another breath-taking roller-coaster installment in the rebooted Star Trek franchise.

It's rare to see a summer blockbuster so intelligently made, and so easily enjoyable. I haven't had this much fun at the theater since last year's Wreck-It Ralph. Into Darkness may not have the accessibility of its predecessor, but this is still a superb action flick, and maybe the best action flick I'll see all year.

James T. Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the Enterprise crew must locate terrorist John Harrison and bring him to justice. That's really all I can say without giving away any of the plot twists, as there are several. Be assured, this is a very intelligent story (especially in regards to most popcorn ” read more

Director J.J. Abrams' second venture into the cosmos on-board the USS Enterprise, Star Trek: Into Darkness is a smoother, more engaging experience than its predecessor, and it shows that there's still plenty of mileage left in the decades-old franchise. This is a follow-up that lives up to and surpasses the movie that spawned it, retaining the 2009 film's sense of energy and excitement but upping the ante with a stronger villain and a more interesting narrative. Most impressive about Into Darkness, though, is that it's a blockbuster both for Star Trek fans as well as the uninitiated. Indeed, there's fan service aplenty, and Trek fans should find the film to be an absolu” read more

"The first one was a nice surprise, so I am interested in seeing this one. I'm not highly anticipating it because I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan. Update: Wow! The teaser is amazing! Afterthoughts: Surprisingly mediocre. While the special effects were amazing, I thought it was too dark for a Star Trek movie."
