"Watched on 1/11/10 Surprise Surprise, this movie is actually good! The story lacks, but the fight choreography and cinematography is all there, and very good. There are some epic duels in this one. Recommended to anyone into a nice action flick. 6.5/10 "

Universal Soldier: Regeneration

“I felt like I was watching stupid Russian movie. There was a lot of Russian dialogs with english subtitles witch I hate. Everything about this movie was lame and cheesy. Even though I like Van Damme I couldn’t stand this movie. You can’t even compare this Crap to the original Universal Soldier (1992).

So, to summarize, I’d give 2out of 10 !

Franchise Reboot

“Freedom fighter/terrorists take the Russian president's two kids hostage and also threaten a nuclear disaster (they're holed up in Chernobyl). The ace in their hole is a NGU (Next Generation Universal Soldier) controled by a mercenary rogue scientist. The NGU is damn near an OMAC (One Man Army Corp). Russia/US respond by pulling the first generation Universal Soldiers out of deep freeze.

It's a franchise reboot. John Hyams is Peter Hyams (TIME COP) son. Peter was the director of photography (according to John) or cinematographer (according to IMDB) and the movie looks great. They mostly shot at Sophia, Bulgaria, at an abaondened steel factory which doubles for Chernobyl. John Hyams choreographed the fights which are plentiful and brutal, particularly one rematch.
