Another classic 90's macho match-up. I don't know why they stick 18 certificates on these films, I watched it as a nipper and I only have happy memories! Two cybernetically enhanced soldiers become enemies after serving in an elite combat unit.

Van Damme is obviously the good guy, whilst Dolph Lundgren plays the remorse- and moral-deficient killer hell-bent on displaying his pure d... read more

When I started to go the movies on my own, I was just about 12 years old. My first passion were action movies, I was a huge fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme and I had watched virtually all his flicks on vhs at the time. So, when I heard that this movie was coming out, I was totally excited and I definitely had to see it in the theater. I remember it very well, I went to see it with my brother but the ... read more

Just finished watching "Universal Soldier" for...well, I don't really know how many times I have seen it since 1992, but I have seen it many, many times. It still holds up fairly well, and yes, it's maybe not the best movie, but I think it's just one of my guilty pleasures. I love watching Jean-Claude Van Damme's movies, and this is my favourite one. I love the fight scenes, and Dolph Lundgren ... read more

Movie Reviews (1251-1300) (50 movies items)

" The Ups: I get to see Dolph Lundgren and Jean Claude Van Damme killed off even before the 10 minute mark. It is an old-fashioned action movie with good stunt work, brutal blood effects and gruesome death scenes. It is one of the few better "Robocop / Terminator" rip-offs out there. The Downs: B-movie version of "Terminator 2" but with an woman instead of a young boy to be saved. Weak comedy one-liners and attempts to humanize Van Damme's character. I don't like to see Van Damme's butt. "
