One of Macaulay Culkin's lesser known roles, the star of this show is undoubtedly John Candy anyway. It must have been heaven for any film director in the late 80's/early 90's to just pair together Candy, Culkin and family slapstick comedy and know that it would just work no matter what. This is a heartwarming tale of a lowlife uncle drafted in to look after his brother's children while they attend to a family crisis. Despite not being the ideal role-model and having a list of vices as long as his arm, Buck eventually earns the respect of the children he is looking after and manages to learn how to get his own life back on track as a result of it. This is a good comedy with a dark twist to it, like a lot of John Hughes movies. The up side is that it's funny and really quotable...

"Hi, I'm Buck Melanoma, Moley Russell's wart..."

It's John Candy in one of his funnier roles. Check it out, watch it, then watch it again.
