Transformers (2007)

Take a classic cartoon about a bunch a large robots from outer space that change into a bunch a cool vehicles that raised the testosterone level to the point that little boys became little "guys",
mix in a healthy batch of modern day hard driving live action peppered in with a few swear words & gritty gun play,
and top it all off with the absolutely & ridiculously hot Megan Fox,
and there you have it.
A summer super-mega-blockbuster incorporating all the things that can easily make the males of our species grunt with ultimate ball-quivering delight.

I gave myself a few hours time before writing any sort of review for this movie, because the initial reaction typically isn’t the same as your view in retrospect, but in this case it’s pretty much the same: distaste and an overall resentment toward Michael Bay and the entire team behind the movie. And, before I go on, if you’re just going to present me with some pointless, irrelevant argument about how Michael Bay is good for his other movies, skip it. It is amazing, just incredible that out of all the films I have seen, this has to be the one I choose for my first Listal review. Perhaps I start with this one because it is so easy, as there is really not much to say. There are no words! There are no words to describe the mess of a film which is Transformers. I almost cannot bring myself to call it a film, it seems more like something that was put together on a production line, which is, of course, a fitting metaphor for a film about a bunch of non-biological sentient beings from outer space. It is truly a reminder of the desperate state of modern culture that obscene amounts of time, money and human effort are routinely poured into such wanton dross as this film. I've been a bit wary with this fad to turn all my favourite childhood television shows/comics into movies so I must admit I was putting off watching this just to save being disappointed. Now that I've finally watched it I wish I had of watched it sooner! I loved it right from the word go. One of those movies that I would of preferred to see on the big screen, but still fantastic. Lots of great action to hide the substandard acting and lack of dialogue (don't need much riveting dialogue in a movie like this though). Only one thing really annoyed me. Great action but it seemed geared more towards kids (which is an obvious adaptation from the cartoon), but it was a little too kooky for me at times.

Everyone that I know that has seen this movie has loved it, so its no different for me. Though I must admit I didnt think i would like it nearly as much as I did.

Oh and i'll just saw that the special effects were awesome!!

Saw this movie last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. After hearing how good it was from all of my friends, I was not disappointed when I finally got a chance to see it on the big screen.

The special effects were awesome, and the movie seems to have been left wide open for a sequel.

When it comes out on DVD, I want to own this movie, and watch it at least twice more:)

Lovers of the cartoons have complained that it’s nothing like the series or the animated movie. Haters of Michael Bay have nagged on about stereotypes, caricatures and music video movie-making. Me? I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I was happily entertained by the goofy antics of Sam Witwicky trying to impress the girl, Mikaela. Liked the scenes where the Autobots are hiding around Sam's house, and loved the bit where a fat kid with a camera-phone comically shouts something like 'I think this is armageddon!'. And the massive fight at the end is truly spectacular. The bots are breath-taking and there are plenty of those stylish motion-slow action shots that I love - but it all came a bit late. It was much better than I thought. Bay didn't ruin the memory from childhood, he just brought it to a new level.

This is a great action flick, and it's about time the "bad" aliens found out that humans aren't as insignificant as most movies portray. It's set up for a sequel (that's all I can say without giving it away), and I can't wait for it...

I went into the movie thinking that I wasn't going to like it, I did like it. It was a bit long but parts of it were funny and it was entertaining.

I enjoyed Transformers. Despite the fact that it was made by Michael Bay, was littered with plot holes and had a cheesy soundtrack, I didn't leave the cinema disappointed. The sound effects were superb and it really got the adrenaline flowing. The fact that it was almost non-stop automated carnage from start to finish pressed all the right buttons for me. Even the generic love story wasn't too over the top. Their insignificant relationship doesn't ever really wrestle centre stage from the mechanoid mayhem. I didn't expect anything else from a Transformers film.

I found this incredibly entertaining. Visually-speaking, it was just pretty much a plethora of eye-candy: the cars, the graphics, a couple of the actors. Well worth seeing it in the cinema. The only ick would probably be the fast-motion scenes and shaky camera shots. I realize the this is to get a sense of the mood but I just found the jarring camera shots occasionally distracting and the graphics sometimes went by so fast they were just a blur. All in all, quite funny and I actually look forward to seeing some equally good sequels.

Well, I didn't expect one thing or another, but I did expect a more realistic view on the whole idea of a tranformer. This movie definatly accomplished that. Altough they deviated from the true transformer theme, they did do a really great job of making up for it. The fight scenes were amazing, and action packed to the bone. It was sometimes hard to tell who was who, but they were still really awesome. For any transformer fan, you should go and see it. BUT, it should not be considered a family movie. This movie is not for the kids.

The robot fighting scene is just too fast and it seems like they are trying to cover something..hope the next one can improve in this area. Hardly can see clearly on each of the fight.
