"Another good performance from Val Kilmer. Also, good performances by Sam Shepard and Graham Greene. The story centers around a federal investigation of a murder on a Native American reservation.

Back then, there was some controvery because Val Kilmer doesn't have any Indian ancestor but I thougt he looked the part and provided a very convincing performance. There is a very interesting mix of a realistic and gripping police story with some indian mysticism and, as a result, I thought the story was really fascinating. Anyway, it is an underrated gem and it is definitely worth a look.” read more

Note : Back in the 90's, Val Kilmer was a respected actor... It is easily one of his best perfomances. The story is really mesmerizing aswell. A very good movie.
Better than : Kiss kiss bang bang (though it is a very good movie)"
"16.10.
Leffassa on potentiaalia, koska taustalle jäävät autonromut onnistuvat ilmoittamaan reservaattien kurjuudesta paremmin kuin hahmot itse. Lisäksi romuautojen meri tuo mukavan post-apocalyptisen fiiliksen ja mielessä käväisee myöskin Godardin Week End. Leffa on tullut nähtyä penskana varmaan kymmenen kertaa, joten on sillä nyt jonkinlainen nostalgia-arvo minulle. "

An FBI agent with Sioux background arrives to a reservation to investigate a murder but as he goes deeper into the case he finds out that some even bigger problem bothers the locals already suffering from poor living conditions. The man learns that in order to advance in his investigations he have to accept and understand his Native American heritage. The film based on actual events of the 70's illuminates the discrimination of Native Americans with some surprisingly stirring scenes"
