One of the most powerful films of 2006. If you didn't understand the troubles in Ireland before, you will by the time the end credits roll. Ken Loach and his lead 'Cillian Murphy' deserved awards recognition for this film.

A very good movie

Years after years, Ken Loach came with his movies to the Cannes Film festival and, this time, he finally received the coveted Golden Palm thanks to this flick. Did it deserve it? It is difficult to tell since I have not seen all the movies in competition for that particular year but what I do know is that it was a damned fine movie. Indeed, as usual with Ken Loach, the directing was sober and comp... read more

"I'm very disappointed in myself that I hadn't watched this movie earlier but I find movies about Ireland's struggle completely heartbreaking and this was nothing less than that. Loved Cillian Murphy in this too."

It is difficult to tell since I have not seen all the movies in competition for that particular year but what I do know is that it was a damned fine movie. Indeed, as usual with Ken Loach, the directing was sober and completely efficient and the actors all delivered some very good performances. "10.2 Realistisuudessaan niin tyly, että pistää väkisinkin miettimään. Välillä erittäin piinaavaa katsottavaa, se laskettakoon tässä tapauksessa ansioksi. Pitää otteessaan koko kestonsa ajan. "
