This movie was long, drawn out, and tough to sit through. Did I mention that it was predictable---I had never seen or heard of the original, but I definitely saw the end coming.

Why a remake of this dull, predictable, non-thriller ever came to be is a question by films end that still remains unanswered. Nicholas Cage continues to disappoint with every film he releases and with a plot that could have been wrapped up in about ten minutes kills you for an hour and a half, you start to wonder why anybody trusts Cage to go on acting.

I actually really enjoyed it!
Not one of my favourite movies ofcourse, buut one of the best i've seen in a while.

Its a horror, but really not that scary. I have to admit some things 'freaked me out' but didnt really scare me.
This is a good thing, because horror really isnt my type of movie.

"1st viewing, Netflix 21 March 2013 Director: Neil LaBute I watched the new version of The Wicker Man particulary for the always entertaining Nicolas Cage, but even him couldn't save this movie. Compared to the original, this lacked the strange mystique which is the whole point of the story. And they added an artificial love story that made me want to cringe. and Cages moments were flat and couldn't save the movie from drowning. "

"2.3.2013 For reasons unknown, I still haven't seen the original Wicker Man even after all these years I've been interesting in it, but for this it must have been the third or something rewatch already. Well it's pretty much globally known that Cage goes real crazy in this with the bee-lines and beating up women and all that, and all that is very enjoyable. But it doesn't start until later on the movie unfortunately and as a horror-movie, this fails. Mood is tried to set up with a thousand repet"

"27.01. PC/TV, 3rd viewing DIRECTED BY Neil LaBute A re-make of a classic horror/mystery film. To me, the sheer existence of this film is its greatest mystery. Apparently Nic Cage himself has called it an "absurd black comedy" which IS the only way I can make sense of this film. As a comedy, it's a real gem; the editing is hilariously bad, there are some really stupid scare scenes and Nicolas Cage is really entertaining to watch as he delves from confusion to complete outrage, beating women up "
