I've had a little bit of a affinity for archery and so when TV spots showed the movie with Cage's character shooting with a bow and arrow I was really interested.

Nicolas Cage plays David Spritz, a Chicago weatherman, who has so many things going on that most of his life seem like a daze.

Why do people hate this film? The Weather Man is actually one of the smartest, funniest and also one of the most heartbreaking films as well. By seeing the front cover of the DVD and poster of The Weather Man seems like a very bizarre and unique film but it isn't at all to be fair. This was another interesting movie, although it was a bit more crude than it had to be. I thought Michael Caine's character was very enjoyable. He caught the theme of the movie when he said: "Do you know that the harder thing to do and the right thing to do are usually the same thing? Nothing that has meaning is easy. A good movie

“With Nicolas Cage, you never know what you'll get. It is either hit ('Bad Lieutenant') or terribly miss ('Bangkok Dangerous'). I mean, the main character is indeed a total loser, or least somehow who doesn't appreciate his life but, still, I thought this flick was pretty good and I don't really understand why everyone says it is depressing. I thought it was pretty funny, sometimes even hilarious and a rather realistic comedy, which is more interesting than all those moronic comedies produced every year. Furthermore, Nicolas Cage was pretty good but I enjoyed even more Michael Caine who gave again one of his amazing understated performances. The only issue was maybe that there were too many sub-plots dealing with archery, pedophilia and other things but the relationships between the differe” read more
