The Way Back (2010)

“The Way Back is a great film, I think the reason why I liked it so much was it was based on True Events. It is an epic tale of a small group of men who escape a siberian gulag, and head off over miles and miles of hostile territory to find their freedom. At times this movie is slow, the action none but this is about a group of men escaping so most of the time yes they are walking or hiding or looking for food. It also shows the men at times lossing their minds, and how they deal with that. The story is a slow adventure, and I for one wanted to watch their journey even though you know the ending if you have heard of the story, it is still a enjoyable watch and a very interesting look at a true story.” read more

A good movie

“Even though Peter Weir is a very highly regarded director, he has made only 2 movies since 'The Truman Show' was released in 1998. I thought that 'Master and Commander' was rather disappointing and even though his last movie was better, I still thought it was rather underwhelming. Indeed, even though this true (which might be a fake) story sounded really amazing on paper, I'm afraid it wasn't that amazing as a film. Basically, you follow those men and this young woman walking for miles and that's about it. Every once in a while, it seems that they will run out of water of food but, in the nick of time, they always find salvation. This pattern is repeated several times and, at some time, it gets really tiresome above all since you already know they will survive. Nothing much else occurs eve” read more
