Pink Floyd is one of the best progressive rock bands ever, and The Wall is one of their best albums. Once you've seen this movie, you know that even better.

Pink Floyd: The Wall is a tale about a rock star called Pink, who snaps one day caused by his hard past and he creates a "wall" around himself, into which he escapes. Pink is stressed by things such as his father's death, noone ... read more

Interesting film facts (389 movies items)

"The poetry that young Pink was caught with during "The Happiest Days of Our Lives" is a combination of the first and second verses of "Money", off Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". Far from being "absolute rubbish", this album stayed longer on the Billboard chart than any other album: more than 700 weeks. The scene in which Pink is calling his home from the United States and is very depressed to hear a man's voice, was made by actually placing a call to England through a random, unsuspecti"

"Here's another one that I've only seen recently. I've gotten into Pink Floyd only recently, but their music came to me at a very ideal time in my life. The album of The Wall resonated with me very strongly, so naturally I was curious to see what the movie was like. Although it wasn't very cohesive, the point of The Wall was to visually illustrate the album. And with it's trippy visuals and animation alongside Bob Geldof's cryptic portrayal as Pink, it achieves just that. It's the longest mu"

Too Young For Heart Attacks: Don't show your kids (13 movies items)

"Nine years old is not the right age to be watching "The Wall." I repeat: Nine years old is not the right age to be watching "The Wall." I was thinking about this movie in school for days during the lessons, unable to think of anything else. Pretty much everything that happened in this movie had an adverse effect on my fragile mind. Although it's entirely possible that watching this and the other movies in this list is why I eventually had a strong desire to be creative. I can't say for sure"

Summer of 1982: 15 Classic Films Turn 30 (15 movies items)

"Release Date: August 6 U.S. Box Office: $22,244,207 2012 Adjusted Gross: $59,923,200 Director Alan Parker had a pair of musicals ("Bugsy Malone" and "Fame") under his belt, but he threw out all the old traditional rules for this arty mix of live action and animation. While the film divided members of the band Pink Floyd, it spawned a cult following, and it can be seen in midnight screenings to this day. "
