This story about tragedy that somehow surrounds an average family in an average neighborhood, is filled with some of today's best actors. The story of the family bleeds over into the young men of the neighborhood as well, and gives the viewer a feeling of a (non-sexual) voyeurism. I think it enhances the viewers experience (by listening to the boys thoughts), but it also distances you at the sam... read more

Mr. Lisbon is a quirky math teacher, his wife is a strictly religious mother of five attractive teenage daughters who catch the eyes of the neighborhood boys. However, when 13-year-old Cecilia commits suicide, the family spirals downward into a creepy state of isolation and the remaining girls are quarantined from social interaction (particularly from the opposite sex) by their zealously protective mother.
