Powell does a wonderful job as a droll private eye and Myrna Loy is a terrific foil to his wisecracks. Most of the Thin Man movies are still fun to watch even now, nearly 80 years after their original release. I have the whole DVD set and have them all at least thrice. I just love the laid back life portrayed in there even though I know it was never real. One can dream, right? :-)

" January 22nd "The Thin Man Goes Home" was actually the first film in this series I had seen, of which I enjoyed. Unfortunately I found the first Thin Man a boring viewing. As with "Goes Home" the plot was tricky nor did I fully understand it, but unlike that film, here I laughed very seldomly."
