"I'll be back..." The Terminator is one of the best films in the history of cinema, and is a landmark production in terms of both sci-fi and action. Although the film was made over 20 years ago it has lost very little of its original impact. Sarah Connor (Hamilton) is a young woman whose tranquil existence is interrupted when a cyborg that looks like a human is sent back in time to kill her. In the future, Sarah is destined to give birth to John Connor - a young man who will win the war between man and machine when the world has ended. But human Kyle Reese (Biehn) is also sent back in time as Sarah's protector. A superb science fiction film that lead to one of the greatest sequels in film history. The future is a bleak place for humanity. Fighting against their own extinction a rebel leader sends his best soldier back to the past to protect his mother after their oppresive machine enemies send back a Terminator to prevent him from being born. Everyone knows the plot to the Terminator, it's pretty much a staple of anyones DVD collection!

This film made me fall in love with Michael Biehn, the super soldier who goes toe-to-toe with a ruthlessly efficient killing machine. Packed with action sequences and memorable lines, this film is a modern classic. It does look rather dated in terms of special effects, but that's easily overlooked and doesn't ruin your enjoyment of the film.
