" Notes: It was my wife who actually introduced this movie to me when we first met. Indeed, it was one of her favorite movies, one of those that she saw so many times as a child, and she was (rightfully) shocked that I never saw the damned thing in my life. "One of the greatest screen musicals and a film I haven't seen in its entirety since the 70's. The production values and cinematography is hugely impressive. It makes for perfect Sunday afternoon entertainment."

"A woman leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the children of a Naval officer widower. "

" THE SOUND OF MUSIC Kathy. Total Score: 8 points. "

" So I finally sat down with my girlfriend to watch this classic. It was an overall rather cozy experience. The film is very charming with likable characters performing catchy songs. The only real issue I have with it is that it's way too long and that the last act feels unnecessary, and even tonally wrong compared to the rest of the film."
