Honestly, I think it is rather overrated. I mean, it is not bad at all, the directing is allright, Naomi Watts delivers a decent performance but compared to the Japanese version, it is actually rather weak. Furthermore, it is because this movie was so succesfull at the box-office that we get all those worthless remakes of Asian horror flicks... awesome film - remake - yes - the original is better as are most of the japanses films - but great all the same. A must for horror buffs..

Ok that wasn't said in the movie, but from the parody Scary Movie 3. I have owned the movie for a while and found it odd that I've never watched it. It looked mediocre, but it needed to be seen.
