" The Ups: Beautifully produced tragedy that spellbound with it's magic ballet-sequences and a fascinating "Behind the scenes" story. Anton Walbrook is excellent as demanding and selfish maestro who sees ballet as a religion. Moira Shearer does one of the best debuts on film with her red-flamed hair. Excellent dance sequences, great photography and beautiful costumes make it all come together as a great film even for those who hate ballet. The Downs: Well it is a great film so it's hard to nit"
