"You killed my father, and you stole my elephant!"

Considering the success of 2003's Ong-bak and the sudden international interest in martial arts wunderkind Tony Jaa, it's unsurprising that Jaa swiftly reunited with Ong-bak director Prachya Pinkaew for another round of cinematic mayhem. The result is 2005's The Protector (a.k.a. The Warrior King), and it's one of the most viscerall... read more

Tony Jaa has absolutely phenomenal martial arts skills. Even though it was just a showcase for his talents, I still immensely enjoyed Ong Bak and I guess the same could be said in this film. Ong Bak boasted no stunt doubles or wirework, which was a welcome change to the string of films coming out of the East at the same time which relied heavily on slightly ludecrous wire fights. I'm not sure whet... read more

The Warrior King), and it's one of the most viscerally exciting action pictures in recent memory. For sure, its plot is borderline incomprehensible and Pinkaew's storytelling is garbled, but the film is nevertheless a satisfying showcase of bone-breaking brawls, punches, kicks and phenomenal fight choreography, ensuring the picture is worth watching for action fans at the very least.

30 Greatest Movie Fistfights (30 movies items)

" The Fighters: Kham (Tony Jaa) vs. pretty much everybody on the payroll of Madame Rose (Xing Jin) The Fight: Taking a rather more hands-on approach to animal conservation than we're used to, Kham gets revenge for some high-level elephant poaching by snapping about 68 waggling henchman limbs. Dirtiest Move: For anyone in possession of a skeleton, it's all pure filth. Kham straight-up has issues with the idea of people walking away with more than four bones intact. It sounds like a Kit-Kat conv"
