Since this flick is on the list '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die', I was definitely eager to check it out. I have already seen two other versions of this story ('Ossessione' (1943), 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' (1981)) and this version is best one I have seen so far (still have to see the very first one 'Le dernier tournant' (1939)), on the other hand, I'm pretty much done with this st... read more

"10.2.2013 John Garfield's drifter-character wanders on to a gas-station-hamburger-kind of place in search for a job, and quickly gains it. Trouble comes aboard in form of a lady, of course. They get involved and that lady's husband needs to be taken care of for that and other purposes.
