Thoughts: This being my first run in with Sean Penn as a director, I can pretty confidently say I am happy with what he's done. I honestly didn't expect a film all that different from other serial killer films. Nicholson is fantastic as the leading detective, and superbly draws out the necessary traits from that of an obsessive, guilt-ridden man. What I really liked about 'The Pledge' is the fact that not many 'Easy' scenes are featured. Meaning, the narrative is"
