The Nun’s Story was reportedly Audrey Hepburn’s favorite amongst the films she had made. It is easy to see why, not only does she deliver a performance of tremendous strength, delicate beauty and emotional complexity, but it’s one of the most honest depictions of true religious faith that I have seen. It positions that doing good and helping others sometimes means rejecting the dogma that bo... read more

A good movie

What an intriguing picture... It is rather weird when you think that this movie was a huge success and one of the highest grossing pictures coming out that year. Can you imagine a movie released nowadays with a similar story?!? First of all, I'm not a religious person, I don't even believe in God so it is rather difficult for me to understand why such an attractive bright young woman would choose ... read more

Movie Reviews (1501-1550) (50 movies items)

" The Ups: Feels authentic, believable and real. Acting top-notch - there is a whopping seven future-or-past Academy Award Winners here. Gorgeous studio sets. The Downs: Never really comes under the skin of the leading character. Audrey Hepburn really tries but it is fault in the script and not the actress. Too damn long."
