Not the greatest, but worth watching once or twice

Hey, sequels rarely overpower the first movie, and of course, this one failed to overpower the first movie. But, it wasn't as bad as some other sequels, seeing as I didn't regret watching it, other then better camera working, slightly more interesting creatures, and a bit of comedy, it doesn't really do a good job of succeeding... Albeit, it did have me interested at certain parts, but some of the parts just left you right out there, snoring. If you can ignore the boring parts and wait for interesting things to happen, then this movie will probably be higher rated for you, I recommend this to any mummy fans though, as mummies are always interesting to mummy fans(Strange, you'd think mummy fans were more of the dog type...) Anyways, 6/10, if they kept it interesting the whole movie it wou...Read more

Extremely stupid, albeit entertaining adventure!

"Go to hell and take your friends with you!" The seminal rule of sequels to a blockbuster declares that everything must be bigger: bigger special effects, more action, and grander locations. Sequels are the beloved of Hollywood studios who look forward to an easy box office hit. For audience, however, the prospect is often less attractive. Some films shouldn't have sequels. Every once in a while, though, sequels can be worthwhile. Looking at the Indiana Jones franchise, the sequels exist simply to place the central character in a different adventure. Such is also the case with The Mummy Returns. The film is an excuse to reunite a majority of the original cast for another adventure. However, at times the film is a severe case of déjà vu and it's impossible to shake off the sense of ...Read more

when will Hollywood learn...

No plot, no credible facts. King Scorpion and Imhotep didn't even live in the same time frame. When will Hollywood learn?! This is a pathetic sequel to the first film, The Mummy (which was much more fun). It is also a film which make several references to older films in some scenes oh! so cliché (the jet airship?!?). The scriptwriters obviously did not care about making any sense when writing this junk. Alex's mother would worry but not the father?!?!?! Oh pleeease. The kid seems to have been, at first, a copy of Ramses Peabody (see the Amelia Peabody series written by Elizabeth Peters); however this dissolves after his meeting with the mummy. A film as full of oh! so phony special effects as possible. Some scenes even look like video games. It is so incredibly gory too. The two ...Read more
