Review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park

The Lost World, the first sequel to 1993's Jurassic Park is an exhausting, thinly scripted film, that depends entirely on it's action sequences and special effects. Now that I've got the critique out of the way, let me just say that I had a blast watching The Lost World, the rare sequel that improves on the original. The Lost World may be missing some of the majesty and inventiveness of it's prede... read more

I read the book first, and got excited about the movie coming out. Like most other adaptations, they can't put every single detail into the movie, and the one thing that I really wanted to see was one of those things.

There was a dino that had chameleon genes, so it was able to change color to match the environment (in case you weren't aware). How great would that've been on the big... read more

Now I recently acquired the books for free, from a giveaway thing. So I read the first and enjoyed it, then I read the second and LOVED it. I simply loved the character of Dr. Levine, and the kids. I imagined parts in the book on the main screen, like when the raptor sniffs the rapper and slowly looks up, scowling. But did I see that? No. Did I even see Levine? No. Arby? No.

Don't g... read more

Worst Nostalgia Critic Reviews (2008-2012) (34 webtv items)

"My Two Cents: As much as I agree with much Doug's criticisms on the movie, I just thought the review itself was underwhelming. One part that I did like, though, was the twist on the "Boomer will live" joke when the T-Rex eats the doghouse with the dog inside. Key Negatives: -Boring -Forced Jokes -Running Gag Annoying -Underwhelming Channel Awesome Tagline: "That's, that's, chaos theory." That line didn't need to be used as a running joke throughout the review."

" DVD- 2hrs. 9min. First Viewing An incredibly disappointing sequel to an all-time classic. The effects are still great, but it's missing the one thing that made the original so great; fun."

" In the first Jurassic Park, modern science demonstrated it highest possibilities to date by genetically re-introducing the dinosaurs of the Jurassic era to our time. Then, it went about creating an island theme park in which to inhabit these prehistoric ganstas of giant monsters, in the speculative hope that the general public would eat them up. As it turned out, it had the opposite effect. It was the park that began eating up the public. So, in this 2nd installment of the series, we find out "

Bml93's Film Diary for 2014: March & April (36 movies items)

"Re-watched @ Blu-ray Steven Spielberg's sequel is mostly rather solid. The special effects are impressive, but the wonder and amazement from the first film is naturally gone. The story is not particularly great and it's certainly lacking Sam Neill's presence, even if Peter Stormare and Pete Postlethwaite almost makes up for that. The action is well-done, even if some scenes tends to go on for too long (truck hanging on the edge of the cliff for instance). But watching a Tyrannosaurus rex goin"
