Not Bad

Wait! Matthew Mccaughey can act! Yes he was really good in this movie, which I thought would be worse, but it wasn't. I heard it had a lot of flaws, but I couldn't find that many. Everything really stayed intact. The acting was good Ryan Phillippe had one bad part, but he saved his role towards the end and ended up having a good role. It wasn't delivered quit well it moved really slow for me, but ... read more

I guess i'm a sucker for rogue lawyer films - the FIrm, Michael Clayton, and now, while not quite rising to the level of the first two, the Lincoln Lawyer is a solid addition to the panopoly. Interest concept - a defense lawyer with a conscience of sort, a complex family life (x wife was a prosecutor) and a fateful decision to take on a rich client instead of his usual hard-working riff raff crim... read more

Ever since I heard that Matthew McConaughey made his come-back in this feature, I was really intrigued by it. Eventually, I thought it was not bad but still nothing really mind-blowing though. I mean, the first 20 minutes were really good, with a gritty look, some dynamic directing and indeed a very sharp McConaughey. Unfortunately, from the moment he got involved in the Roulet case, the whole thi... read more

"03.03.2014 "You really shoot your client's mother?" "Damn right I did. She shot me first." After Matthew McConaughey's well deserved Best Actor win at the Oscars last night i felt like checking out the movie that restarted his career from cheesy rom-com guy to fantastic character actor. This was really just your standard courtroom drama and catch the killer thriller saved from total mediocrity by McConaughey and the stellar supporting cast. Ryan Phillippe probably gave the best performance of "

"Few people can play a slick lawyer better than Matthew McConaughey. He is very good, and his performance in The Lincoln Lawyer is just one of many recent performances that has totally turned his career upside down. If you've seen these kind of courtroom thrillers before, you'll probably have no problem guessing how this one is going to turn out. But that's easily forgiving when the film is as well-made and entertaining as this one. I really enjoyed it. "

I mean, it was well made and rather entertaining but it still felt like a standard thriller combining a court drama and your usual omnipotent serial-killer. It was rather disappointing that in the first part McConaughey created an interesting sleazebag lawyer but suddenly, the guy grew a consciousness and it was immediately rather underwhelming. " Again lets start with camera work. I hate needless use of the handheld camera which happens at the start. Then the dizzying circling the main speaker multiple times, I suppose in a courtroom drama this is to provide tension. However, I stop listening to what is being said and focus on how annoying the camera is and start disliking whoever the camera is focusing on. I guess because these two camera elements are intend for non-dialoge situations and in most of the films I watch used to show int"
