scontato

Molto prevedibile, tutta roba già vista. Banale e noioso, dialoghi assurdi. Una brutta copia di guerre stellari ambientato nell'antica Roma (Ambrosino è chiaramente un cavaliere jedi sotto le mentite spoglie di filosofo)

Won't Leave A Lasting Impression

I think this movie had a lot of potential but it fell far short of it. It really didn't do anything for me which is a shame because I was looking forward to it. A lot of the actors weren't up to scratch and I think that was more due to the fact that they weren't suited to their roles rather then being bad actors. Aishwarya Rai, for example, although I love her in every other role I've seen her in she didn't perform too well in this one. John Hannah was quite a soft actor, it was almost like he was melting into the background especially when Colin Firth was in a scene with him. I found the best out of the lot to be Colin Firth who was stronger in his role then any of the others and the kid who played Romulus (Thomas Sangster) made an impression on me also. There were also some attempts at ...Read more

This is one movie you can wait for cable. Don't waste money on renting it. It was a "B" movie wanting to be an "A" movie.

Two wonderful actors, Colin Firth and Ben Kingsley, with great costumes and scenery... and yet somehow I still found myself rather bored. The plot is far too cliché and done to bits and really I'm just not fascinated by little "boy king" stories anymore (why isn't it ever girl queens?).

disappointed

Rome, circa 470 A.D. The Roman Empire is weak. Young Romulus Augustus flees the city and embarks for Britain. He is searching for his "Last Legion", a legion of supporters. Historical movies are always very difficult to judge, and rightly so, since they usually lack details of the depicted era, and this movie has those flaws. It is far from being perfect, or even good. It is rather an empty motion picture. From the beginning, the plot is quite confusing - just like the book it is based on, written by Valerio Massimo Manfredi. None of the actors (especially Ben Kingsley, Colin Firth and Thomas Sangster) are believable, unfortunately. The story and its scenes are soooo predictable, it's pathetic. The sound was lousy, and the music was so loud that it made it difficult to hear mo...Read more
