I've never been a fan of car chases, but I know I would be if they were all as brilliantly arranged and thrilling to watch as the car scenes in "The Italian Job".
Michael Caine is so youthful and vibrant in this. It was neat to see him that way after being used to him as an old man. Like everything else in the picture, his performance is bright, cheerful, and a joy to watch.
The ending is one of the funniest I've ever seen and the ridiculously catchy anthem "Self-Preservation Society" has b"

"Michael Caine when he was young and cool. I didn't watch the remake because I wasn't interested. But I'm interested in this one for sure, and I hope I enjoy it.
