A good movie

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this flick but since I have always had a weak spot for Michael Caine, I was quite eager to check out. Indeed,in my opinion, Michael Caine is a great actor and back then in the 60's, he was in his golden period. " This was a good film and I always enjoy Michael Caine in any film even close to a spy thriller. However, for some reason I didn't find it very thrilling. Perhaps my attention was just lacking or I watched the film too late at night. I may re-watch the film in the future but for now... meh... not a bad film."

A good movie

“I wasn’t sure what to expect from this flick but since I have always had a weak spot for Michael Caine, I was quite eager to check out. Indeed,in my opinion, Michael Caine is a great actor and back then in the 60's, he was in his golden period. In fact, in this movie, it would be the first time that he would play Harry Palmer, one of his most iconic roles (he would eventually play this character 5 times but I haven’t seen any of those sequels yet). This movie is a rather typical but still a very well done spy movie taking place during the Cold War and Caine was awesome as usual. Apparently, this movie would be in fact a big influence on the ‘Mission: Impossible’ TV show that would start the following year. To be honest, I did see this movie on the BBC and, without subtitles, I’m ” read more

"Watched 3.7 ---------- Mhjaah, aika keskiverto agenttitrilleri. Välillä meininki on vähän sellaista matelevaa ja tylsempää, mutta välillä taas saadaan katsoja oikein kunnolla mukaan. Caine vetää särmikkään roolin, kuten hänellä on tapana, ja loppuun saadaan hyvä satsi jännitystä. Sisällöllisesti tää on aika lailla sitä samaa mitä muutkin agenttileffat on, mutta viihdytysarvo on kuitenkin tarpeeksi korkealla."

"Rigid English agent thriller started the Harry Palmer -series. This is fun to watch - mostly because of the Michael Caine's smooth and cool presence. "

"13.9.2009, DVD Ei mitenkään erityisen paljon muista samanlaisista trillereistä poikkeava, mut mitäs siitä kun kyllä mä ainakin viihdyin tän parissa sen vajaa kaksi tuntia erittäin hyvin. John Barryn erinomaiset musiikit ansaitsee kiitokset ja Palmerin (jota Michael Caine mainiosti tulkitsee) hahmo on kieltämättä hyvinkirjoitettu persoona ja monta kertaa esim. James Bondia, jota oon aina pitänyt pahasti yliarvostettuna vaikken kylläkään ole edes katsonut kuin jotain neljä leffaa"
