Spectacular

The best monster movie ever? I seriously doubt that making such a claim would be false. Why? I plan to tell you. First of all, Gwoemul propably had the best plot I have ever seen in a movie of this genre. It all starts off seeming like some cliched Godzilla-copy, but the moment we meet our so-called main character, Kan-Du, his occasional dialogue and overall attitude prepare us for something different. The moment the army arrives, everything truly starts. The plot unfolds into social and political commentary, different than usual character development, extraordinarily well coreographed action, and it's all covered in weird, sweet sense of humour that I'm pretty sure that any possible remakes will be unsuccesfull in copying, due to it's unique qualities. Also, this movie made something not ...Read more

A promising start

The movie started off really good, with the first 1/3 or so being some of the best monster action I've seen. The effects are great through out the entire movie (fire is hard to do so I won't count the ending). My only big issue with this movie is how it gets really hard to tell how much time has passed. A lot of things point towards the movie being set during a couple of weeks (the military response, the quarantine stuff, the activists at the end), but then you have one Major contraction for that theory, the girl surviving with the monster without anything to eat yet she looks like she's been there a day or two at the most. If you ignore the time discrepensies, it's a good fun monster flick that anyone could watch. Oh, and I loved how they got the a few americans in the mix. Rating: 1st 1/...Read more

Bizarra
