Somehow the poster for this movie gives as much away as the movie itself. There's no real character exploration, the emotions of the actors arn't entirely convincing, and the plot it too obvious to poke fun at. Two lonely hearted women swap houses for the Christmas holiday, wherein they fall in love with the nearest man available.

Overall, a very so-so 'forgetable' chick flick. There was enough of a decent story and good jokes throughout (thanks in large part to Jack Black). The acting was awesome as usual from Kate Winslet, but as I just mentioned, Jack Black was a surprise in this movie. Yep, It was a pretty good movie i have to admit.. Its a romance, and i don't normally enjoy romance movies.. but this was very entertaining! It was also sad.. but overall very moving and sweet.

Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Kate Winslet - With this all-star cast it has to be good.. and it is! Especially Jude Law made it great.. I recommend everyone goes and see's this! Ente... read more

An average movie

“I wasn't sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for romantic-comedies, I thought I should give it a try. Furthermore, Nancy Meyers had so far a pretty impressive track record ('Something's Gotta Give', 'What Women Want', 'The Parent Trap') and there was a really impressive cast (Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black, Eli Wallach, Edward Burns, Rufus Sewell, Shannyn Sossamon, John Krasinski) so it seemed that it could be actually pretty good. Unfortunately, I didn't like it much. I mean, it was very well made, it was great to see all those actors together and it was slightly entertaining but, to be honest, I thought the whole thing was pretty lazy.
