The Holiday (2006)

Somehow the poster for this movie gives as much away as the movie itself. There's no real character exploration, the emotions of the actors arn't entirely convincing, and the plot it too obvious to poke fun at. Two lonely hearted women swap houses for the Christmas holiday, wherein they fall in love with the nearest man available. If this film were a piece of clothing it would be an aron jumper. If it were a food it would be breadsticks, I hope this imagery is making it clear that 'The Holiday' is a bland and distinctly average film. It's not even a bad film, there arn't any particularly cringe worthy moment, nor are there any times where you are particularly moved. I THINK IT IS A VERY GREAT MOVIE I LOVE IT AND I THINK IT IS FUNNY AND SWEET I EXPECILLY LOVE KATE WINSET AND JACK BLACK AS A COUPLE TOGETHER AND I LOVE CAMERON DIAZ AND JUDE LAW AS A COUPLE TOO I WOULD WATCH IT ALL THE TIME EVERY DAY.

Yep, It was a pretty good movie i have to admit.. Its a romance, and i don't normally enjoy romance movies.. but this was very entertaining! It was also sad.. but overall very moving and sweet.

Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Kate Winslet - With this all-star cast it has to be good.. and it is! Especially Jude Law made it great.. I recommend everyone goes and see's this! Entertainment for a rainy day :)

Overall, a very so-so 'forgetable' chick flick. There was enough of a decent story and good jokes throughout (thanks in large part to Jack Black). The acting was awesome as usual from Kate Winslet, but as I just mentioned, Jack Black was a surprise in this movie. He didnt play his trademark 'complete goofball' character, yet still managed to act and be genuinly funny. Jude Law, another strong performance as usual, and Cameron Diaz, well, she sucked as usual. But what made me drop this from what appeared to be a 7 or 8 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10 is the ending.
