Okay, okay,
maybe the first entry on this list isn't on too many "Best of the 70's" lists, but as the title of this thread states, these are my favorite films of the year 1973, not the best of 1973. And my favorites don't necessarily always coincide with the best.
Some of the movies featured on my lists are also listed in my "Favorite Guilty Pleasures" list.
Luckily (for you, the reader), most of these guilty pleasures aren't numb"

"One of a number of Ray Harryhausen spectaculars, which I loved to watch when I was young...and still do! Harryhausen did three Sinbad epics and I couldn't say which is my favorite but I do love Caroline Munro in this!

Tim Burton : "Ray Harryhausen is another inspiration to me. He did it all himself, too, you know, in the days when it was difficult to do that. In his characters -- even the things that had no character -- you could feel an artist at work there. You could feel his hand in it, and that's rare, in any kind of film. His acting was better than the acting of the humans. It really tapped in to what I like about movies, I mean, the fantasy but also that handmade element, when you can see the moveme"
