For a horror picture, I was not impressed. And I am *not* a horror picture fan, but I do enjoy thrillers. The plot looked good enough for a thriller. First I have to say that the entire family dislikes Ricci's acting, and here she is no better than in any other film she's ever acted in, she's worse than ever in our opinion. The photography however is quite beautiful, and has some nice scenery.... read more

This movie had some interesting points, but by the time it got to them, they were completely predictable. For most of the movie, it seemed like two completely different stories were being told---the only common factor being the father of the family Christina Ricci is staying with. If you are looking for something with suspense, look elsewhere.

The only reason I watched this flick is that I have a weak spot for Christina Ricci but, a part from her, it was nothing really mindblowing, I'm afraid. “The only reason I watched this flick is that I have a weak spot for Christina Ricci but, a part from her, it was nothing really mindblowing, I'm afraid. It is one of those typical thrillers which built some mystery at the beginning and, I must say, I was rather intrigued by the whole thing. Unfortunately, as it is always the same issue with this kind of flicks, at some point, sooner or later, they will have to explain what's going on and they will come up with the most preposterous supernatural explanation and this movie is not an exception. I know, you shouldn't ask such a movie to be realistic but, at least, it should be entertaining and it wasn't really the case here. For horror picture fans, look elsewhere. For a good thriller, look elsewhere too! Don't waste your time - or your money like I did. 3 stars is actually the highest rating I'd give this movie.
