"
The Ups: More of the same, but the themes and story is tiny bit darker. The villains get more screen time. Faye Dunaway is especially gorgeous here.
The Downs: It is also slapstick and pointless comedy here that ruin the movie."
"The second half of the epic masterpiece by Richard Lester and the Salkinds. Originally filmed as one movie, upon completion they realized they had enough footage for two films and split them. So, if you haven't seen them, I recommend watching them back-to-back. They are marvelous!

"Why's it so good? While many films have captured the rollicking adventure and swashbuckling side of Alexander Dumas' novels, this is the only one that shows the Musketeers grappling with real tragedy. D'Artagnan's girlfriend is kidnapped, Athos' past with Milady de Winter is revealed, and the super-happy ending is simply not forthcoming. Not until the end of The Man In The Iron Mask would we see another such downer."
