""You see I never stopped loving you, even though I couldn't see you." @ DVD Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore gives wonderful performances, and Neil Jordans direction is solid. The score is good, the set is good, overall, the production is good. And it's take on jealousy and love is good, and it did have enough qualities to be a solid film. Yet, I didn't exactly like it. It didn't engage me. I never got under the skin of any of the characters, even though it was all set up for me to do that. "

"Home - New I'm currently going through something of a Neil Jordan phase. The original novel by Graham Greene is one of my favourite novels so naturally I jumped at this film. Whilst I loved elements of it, (Michael Nyman's score in particular is fantastic) I actually found the film to be oddly over mannered. The original Greene novel is at times furious and tempestous, and largely built around the existential guilt surrounding Bendrix and his seething hatred of god. It's an explicitly religiou"
