"20/1
A completely un-notable effort from a Corman protégé featuring the same mansion that burns down in all Corman-films, and unsurprisingly it does so here too, but for no apparent reason. The monster in the poster shows up only through POV except for a single shot in the end, and otherwise the movie just has Ed Begley in his last role smiling in situations where it isn't OK to do so and talking to other pipe-smoking professors. Dean Stockwell is also prominently featured as a nutjob asswi"

"This will probably be the lowest rated film in my series of yearly favorites. It's saving grace is the fact that it's based off one of H. P. Lovecraft's short stories and he is one of my favorite authors. This was also the first of his tales that I saw made into a movie.
It has a few saving graces but overall is, honestly, a weak effort. I still love it though...
