A great movie

What a suspense ! It is quite shame that this flick is pretty much forgotten since it is actually one of the best in this genre. This movie is so raw, so realistic, I really enjoyed how the whole thing almost looked like a documentary. What I most dislike in modern thrillers, is that they are so over-the-top, even a great classic like "The Silence of the Lambs". But this one is just really captiva... read more

Five by Five Project for 2013 (25 movies items)

"Watched January I've seen the so-called remake of this film & now like it even less than I did before. Everything here is top of the line from the cast to the tension to the music to the attention to detail displayed throughout. I loved watching the ways the Jackal worked to keep from getting caught by the authorities, and the methods he used to prepare for his mission seem dead-on. As it ended I didn't have that feeling I get when watching something I'd rate a 10, but it came damn close to ach"

25 From 73: My Favorite Films of 1973 (25 movies items)

"Assassinating the leader of a nation is always a tricky & complicated business. But trying to do it after several failed attempts makes if even harder for whoever the next guy is that is in line for the job. That is, unless that guy is the man known simply as The Jackal. Concisely conniving & classically clever, he is a cur who is out to prove that when it comes to taking care of business, with enough careful planning & cunning preparation, any dog can have his day.
