"27.11. DVD.
Ei mitään mullistavaa, mutta kivasti ovat osanneet tiivistää puoleentoista tuntiin kaiken saman, mitä olen koulussa tähän mennessä oppinut."

Seeing as I'm going to film school, I ended up catching this one at school. A really interesting documentary about the art of film editing, particularly for me, who is currently interested in being either a film director or editor.
There are naturally some people who are more interesting, and got more meaningful things to say than others, but that's how documentaries are. It's a good documentary that really made me want to start editing something just for the purpose of editing.

American films are the primary focus for the documentary, but unlike the cinematography documentary Visions of Light, American films aren't it's sole focus; this documentary mentions the contributions of Soviet and French New Wave filmmakers. Maybe because editing requires more collaboration with the director, directors are interviewed and that adds to the depth of this film; I really enjoyed Scorsese, Spielberg and Tarantino's comments on editing."
