“‘The City Of Lost Children’ has a strong stylistic similarity to director’s Jeunet and Caro’s ‘Delicatessen’ and ‘Amélie’ though it falls a little short in overall quality to those movies. Clearly there is much influence from Terry Gilliam in this film; in fact there are particular moments that specifically recall Gilliam’s masterpiece ‘Brazil’. There are also strong elements of Steampunk, coming years before the widespread popularity of the style thus somewhat pioneering its imagery. Visually still one of the best movies I've ever seen despite the advent and over integration of CGI, all the technology in the world can't make up for good artistic style and design. "
