"THE BROWN BUNNY" plays out like an Andy Warhol-inspired exercise that was warped into a vanity project. It's like a home movie on a family road trip where nothing is really going on and whoever has the camera is just killing time out of boredom
Some moments are quietly effective and inspire little musings in our heads. But far too much feels ... read more

Motorcycle racer Bud Clay (Gallo) drives his van across the country in search of his lost love, Daisy (Chloë Sevigny). He stops at her parents' house and sees the brown bunny she left behind. Along the rest of the way, he stops for gas, rides his bike, and makes out with a woman at a roadside rest area (Cheryl Tiegs). He meets up with Daisy when he finally arrives in Los Angeles, leading to the revelatory conclusion in his hotel room. The Brown Bunny premiered in competition at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival in a working cut of 119 minutes that was widely panned; a 93 minute final edit was shown at subsequent festivals and premiered in the United States in the summer of 2004. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide... "
Chloe Sevigny blurred the lines between reality and fiction when she got down on her knees to perform oral sex on Vincent Gallo – for real. The result? She lost her agency contract, but got mega famous."

What is it about?
Professional motorcycle racer Bud Clay heads from New Hampshire to California to race again. Along the way he meets various needy women who provide him with the cure to his own loneliness, but only a certain woman from his past will truly satisfy him.
Why is it so controversial?
There is not much really controversial here except that Chloë Sevigny is said to have given an unsimulated blowjob to Vincent Gallo during one of the scenes.
Do I actually want to see this?"
