"The Aristocats is a film more focused on jazz music than the journey of the cats. It's a very touching feature, but is often overshadowed by the similar story of animals trying to escape a killer, 101 Dalmations. This film is well worth watching just because of the music, performed by artists such as Phil Harris, Scatman Crothers, Thurl Ravenscroft, and Maurice Chevalier (immediately before retirement). This is an overlooked Disney feature, that is definitely worth watching, as it has some great"
"This 1970 animated feature is dull, careless, and all too typical of the Disney studio's slapdash output before the unexpected renaissance of The Rescuers.
- Dave Kehr, Chicago Reader
The Aristocats is one of the slightest of director Wolfgang Reitherman's contributions to the Disney animated feature canon, which is to say it's still among the studio's least suffocatingly ornate and ideologically risible films.
- Eric Henderson, Slant Magazine"
"A wonderful little family film!! I love 70's Disney, there's something very arty about the films of that era, not sure entirely what it is but they're all brilliant! This is no exception, it's gorgeous! Bizarre, but gorgeous. A film is nothing without great characters, and this has a plentiful supply, I love it! Watch it!

She calls this "the kitten movie". In early December Netflix added some Disney content, which included this film. I gave her 4 options & she picked this one which she enjoyed so long as there were animals on screen (doesn't care for the human-centric bits evidently). She asked for it again shortly after her first viewing, so I guess that means it's a hit which is good because she wound up getting the DVD for Christmas (which she watched once before the end of the year).
She likes to sing "Ever"
