A good movie

Since 'The Matrix' is such a huge classic, I'm actually quite surprised that this flick is not really well known. To be honest, I have never been a huge fan of 'The Matrix' but since I came accross this movie on DVD, I thought I should give it a try. Eventually, even though it might seem surprising, it turned out to be my favorite movie in this franchise. Indeed, first of all, the animation was ju... read more

Movie Reviews (401-450) (50 movies items)

" Short stories in the "Matrix" universe. They are more varied and seem more thought out than the script to the two sequels. The various animation styles are interesting too, but all the stories are pretty depressing and doesn't really add anything new to the table. The voice acting is pretty monotonous too. Still worth a watch for fans. "

"Reason for the future sucking: Can't us humans, and machines ever learn to get along? Year it takes place: 2059"

35 From 3: My Favorite Films From 2003 (35 movies items)

" Many years earlier, I watched a movie called Heavy Metal. And though it lacked the technical and story skills required to make it something really worth mentioning, I did see in it a potential for an interesting anthology series whose rock'roll/sci-fi/animated integrated format was bound by neither PC rules or those that result from the kid-targeted genre. Then came the Animatrix and showed us (well...me, at least) what that potential could look like. "

Movies the giraffe watched in 2016: April (24 movies items)

"First viewing - April 30th Why haven't I watched this before? More importantly, why didn't we get 2 sequels to this instead of those mediocre Matrix sequels? The animation throughout this is very impressive & matches well with the tone of each short. Peter Chung & his crew who worked on the Aeon Flux cartoons gets an entry here ("Matriculated"), which was a perfect match, but I think my favorite is either "A Detective Story" with it's beautiful black-and-white motif or "Program" thanks to the w"

" I have never seen a Matrix movie before but I was still greatly interested in checking out this particular film. This movie greatly reminded me of Batman: Gotham Knight and I understand that movie was definitely inspired by the critical success of this one. I even remember Codename: Kids Next Door doing a parody of one of the shorts in this anthology. I haven't seen the original Matrix yet but if it's as good as this film that I will certainly call it a classic. I do greatly enjoy anthology fil"
