Recently, I have seen ‘The Treasure of the Sierra Madre’ which is arguably the best movie Humphrey Bogart and John Huston have made together. Eventually, they would make 5 movies (I don’t count ‘In This Our Life' because Bogart only had a cameo) and this flick was the last one they made together. Even though it is also considered as a classic, it didn’t have much an impact on me, at leas... read more

"Well I ain't sorry for you no more, ya crazy, psalm-singing, skinny old maid!"

By this time in his career, John Huston was already established as a capable filmmaker who had previously helmed such classics as The Maltese Falcon and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. And of course, Huston could only call one man to fill the title role: Humphrey Bogart. The African Queen is deservedly... read more

The African Queen is another classic romantic film. African Queen is a beautiful romantic film whereas some other romantic classics suh as Casablanca are quite dark ones. African Queen is a really adventurous romantic experience that joins together with modern day romance and with beautiful sceneries it's untrue. It is a film that isn't just about love but bravery and courage as well. I wouldn't c... read more

Description: The boozing, smoking, cussing captain of a tramp steamer, Charlie Allnut, saves prim and proper Rose Sayer after her brother is killed by German soldiers at the beginning of World War I in Africa. Many quarrels later, the two set sail on the Ulonga-Bora in order to sabotage a German ship. Based on the 1935 novel by C.S. Forester, the ... (more)

"Humphrey Bogart & Katherine Hepburn in a "gritty" riverboat "journey movie" set along an East African river during WW II, & portraying two individuals, each with a mindset on a completely different side of the spectrum. However, after confronting a series of obstacles during their quest, they begin the process of developing a relationship, & soon, the old romance adage of opposites attract starts to take affect as two people from two different worlds end up coming together, first for a "

"I'll admit, I was a little bit underwhelmed. But, I think the acting in this movie is absolutely fantastic! There's basically just Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. There's like, almost nobody else at all! It was good, I liked it. "

I used to have a book on Bogie and it talked about how he used to drink on the set of that one, and they would tell him to stop and he would be like NO LOL

I already knew that ;). As a matter of fact, both Humphrey Bogart and John Huston were the only one who didn't get sick because they were both constantly drunk.

Funny fact if you didn't know this but everyone who was making this film got sick from the water except Bogart who only drank whiskey.

Even though it is also considered as a classic, it didn’t have much an impact on me, at least not as much as ‘The Treasure…’ which was really amazing and the best thing starring Bogart I have seen so far (I have seen only 6 of his movies though…). Still, Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn were some of the best actors of their ge” read more
