Since I'm a big fan if Ang Lee's work, I was really eager to check this movie and I'm surprised it took me so long to finally see the damned thing. Well, to be honest, it wasn't really good, I'm afraid. I mean, sure, it wasn't bad either but, with such great material, it is rather surprising that such a fine director didn't manage to come up with something better than this. Description: Taking Woodstock is the new film from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee - and it’s a trip! Based on the memoirs of Elliot Tiber, the comedy stars Demetri Martin as Elliot, who inadvertently played a role in making 1969’s 'Woodstock Music and Arts Festival' into the famed happening it was. Featuring a standout ensemble cast, and songs from a score of ’60s musical icons including The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish - plus a new recording of "Freedom" from Richie Havens - 'Taking Woodstock' is a joyous voyage to a moment in time when everything seemed possible. ... A Complete Review of Ang Lee's work (14 movies items)

" Cast : Demetri Martin, Imelda Staunton, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Emile Hirsch, Eugene Levy, Mamie Gummer, Katherine Waterston, Liev Schreiber, Paul Dano What was it about? A man working at his parents' motel in the Catskills inadvertently sets in motion the generation-defining concert in the summer of 1969. My two cents: To be honest, this movie wasn't really good, I'm afraid. I mean, sure, it wasn't bad either but, with such great material, it is rather surprising that such a fine director did"

Well, to be honest, it wasn't really good, I'm afraid. I mean, sure, it wasn't bad either but, with such great material, it is rather surprising that such a fine director didn't manage to come up with something better than this. Indeed, I have always been fascinated by Woodstock and it was a great idea to see this event through the eyes of a local kid who, completely by accident, ended up being involved in the greatest concert of all time but, except for a few real nice scenes usually involving the concert itself, I can't say I cared much about the damned thing. It is pretty obvious that Ang Lee tried to go for the typical quirky indie comedy v” read more
