This has to be one of my favourite films ever, no doubt about that. When I first walked into the cinema to see this, I knew I was going to love it.. but I had no idea I would enjoy this film as much as I did. It had that distinctive Tim Burton 'style' to it. I travelled 55 kilometres and had to beg my parents to give me a ride just so I could see this movie on its official premiere day (Feb 29) here in Finland — can you believe we had to wait all this time? — and let me tell you, it was so worth the trouble!

"Re-watched @ DVD It doesn't necessarily win me over on the emotional scale as Edward Scissorhands do, but I find this film to be incredibly awesome due to grotesque and macabre story, and there's something delightfully amusing about it being a musical. It's visually great, the performances are superb, it's surprising and basically everything you'd want from a Tim Burton film. 9/10 "

“I like Tim Burton he can be a very out there person, and when I saw that this movie was a musical I was not sure. After watching it I have to say it was really good, I loved all the actors and off course Johnny Depp did a fantastic job in the lead. Johnny Deep to me is one of the best Character actors of modern time, but the other actors did a good job as well. Helena Bonham Carter another fine character actor also stars, along with Alan Rickman as the villian Judge Turpin, and Timothy Spall and some young stars Jayne Wisener and Jamie Campbell Bower. The movie is very dark, Gothic, with some good musical numbers. If you like a dark gothic tale of revenge, with music than you will love Sweeny Todd it is a really good movie.” read more
