Initial Thought: To be honest I haven't had much disliking for M. Night Shyamalan. He has only made two films I've hated. This however looked to be quite ridiculous. I'm only watching this because working in a movie theater has its perks. I have to be honest I probably wouldn't have watched this as soon as I have otherwise. Hopefully the movie is better than the trailer gives it credit for.

OUR GRANDPARENTS LOVES US SO MUCH This was a good film from M. Night Shyamalan since The Signs (2002. He has given us pretty shitty movies lately, but this one need to be checked out. Performances were great, especially Deanna Dunagan who played Nana but the kids pulled their own parts as well. Mood was creepy. Got few chills and scares on certain points. Twist was acceptable but not mind blowin... read more

"Mom, there's something wrong with Nana and Pop Pop."The Visit may be an imperfect thriller which never quite engages or frightens like the best genre movies, but it is a reassuring step in the right direction for director M. Night Shyamalan, whose misplaced confidence led to such indefensible disasters as The Last Airbender and After Earth. Disposing of large budgets and blockbuster thrills, Shya... read more

"Some good moments but overall this wasn't that good of a movie. It was funny at times but not scary at all. The little rapper kid was annoying and it took the enjoyment level down quite a bit. The weirdness with the grandparents had the opposite reaction."

Movies the giraffe watched in 2017: April (28 movies items)

"First viewing - April 17th Thanks to Split & encouragement from others (thank you) I happily plucked this off the shelf so I could finally watch it. And man, it's a lot of fun. The Visit is nothing great of course, but Shyamalan has a ball with the story and pokes fun at himself through the dialogue. When things get weird the tension ramps up and these moments deliver the goods. The teen boy's rapping was atrocious and while one could argue that fits it was still painful to sit through each ti"

2015 Films - Best to Worst (71 movies items)

" After Shyamalan's two latest failures, it's nice to see him take a step back in terms of production scale and instead focus on a much simpler story. It's also interesting to see him play around with the found footage genre, which is in some ways the most tiresome genre out there now. The Visit is a really dumb film with a lot of silly moments in it, it's almost on the edge of being a spoof film at times. Still it manages to be rather creepy thanks to some solid performances, a well-thought out"
