Street Kings (2008)

"Street Kings" is a highly entertaining film. Keanu Reeves was not great, but he did perform well. The rest of the cast was really good. The best performances was by Forest Whitaker and Hugh Laurie. They were both excellent. The rest of the supporting cast was good, but very out of place. There were just too many big stars mixed in at random scenes of the film. It kind of seemed like the film could easily have had several less characters. Other than that, the cast was great. The story was about a cop named Tom Ludlow (Reeves) who is going through a rough patch in his life after his wife died. He drinks a lot, and often gets angry. This was an interesting movie made by the Training Day people. Like Training Day this movie has a lot of twists and turns along the way. I Thought Keanu did a great job in the lead. This movie had a great cast of supporting actors all with a lot of testostrone. This movie is one for action junkies. The bullets fly and the blood flows in this one. The thing I liked about this one is that it also has a pretty good story attached to it. Street Kings is more of an adult movie and not one for the family. I'd like to know how Forrest Whitaker was able to use the wall of his home in the way that he did without a trace of anything fishy going on. This will make sense if you watch the movie.
