It is a typical James Bond flick with the usual gadgets and tricks. Roger Moore delivers an allright perfomance, even though, he is definitely not my favorite James Bond (Sean Connery will always be the only one...). Anyway, you either love those flicks or not. I'm not a fan but it still is rather entertaining.

Both the British and Russians are amazed when a submarine from each country disappears and the only link is a microfilm detailing the movements of the British submarine meaning that somehow a submarine can be tracked via it's "wake". The British sends agent James Bond and the Russians send Major Anya Amasova, otherwise known as "Triple-X". The Ups: Impressive stunt work. Great car chase from helicopter. Unforgettable comic strip villain Jaws. One of the best villain lairs courtesy of great setdesigner Ken Adams. Excellent Bond babes. Roger Moore finally hitting his own style and doing it perfectly. Hugely entertaining.
The Downs: It's not much depth or anything realistic in it, but it is great escapism. "

This 'gadget' came with mines, torpedoes and oh, who cares? I mean really? It did that underwater thing, and what could be cooler than that?

Rewatch, *** - ***½. Well when comparing to the last one, this is really mild-mannered. But that's not actually a bad thing, as so it doesn't just feel collection of random scenes under a more or less boring plot, like was the case with the Golden Gun - even if in it, it did work mostly. And besides, this is somewhat of a nostalgic case to me and it's also one of the most purest of the series with it's form. Because while without going to that area of total silliness, it still has al"

While Roger Moore is far from my favorite Bond and (imho) his films were among the weakest of the series, there is no such thing as a bad Bond film. In Moore's case, the movies grew weaker as they went along. This being the third of his leg as 007, it is one of the better ones.
The inclusion of Caroline Munro, Barbara Bach and Richard Keil (as Jaws) make this one quite notable."
