Spartacus was released at a time where epic costume dramas began to take shape and become very popular. I mean, nowadays we see these history costume dramas time and time again but they really don't feel the same or even as realistic as the classic ones do. "I'm sorry Stanley Kubrick. I couldn't watch your movie till the end, again. Shame on me, I know, but I just couldn't watch more than the half of Spartacus. There was too much talking in it. I don't want to say it was a bad movie, I just couldn't watch any longer. The same happened when I tried to watch Barry Lyndon once. I had to stop halfway through. I'm sorry."
